What happened to the Control Tower

Shortly after we verified everyone's addresses and anodizing choices, a critical component supplier told us that the components were damaged during a move. After a long back and forth about the exact condition of these components, we determined that they were not acceptable for use, and the supplier was unwilling to remake the entire batch. That left us in a legal limbo. Starting over with a new supplier would most likely take a year or more and be prohibitively expensive.

What replaces it

At the same time, we continued work on our previously announced replacement to the Molecule22, initially called the Molecule3. This project became a complete evolution of the Molecule and ESCC system.

Given the status of these two projects, we made the difficult decision to pause work on the Control Tower in favor of replacing it with this new product, which will fully replace the Molecule system. We believe this product is the next evolution of the ESCC tech. We will share the specifics closer to release, since several new patents are currently in process.

Your preorder and your options

We know this is a big change. Our preorders are about fulfilling a promise to everyone who has patiently waited and believed in us, and that remains true. We are already fully funded to complete this project and are not relying on the preorders for this funding. Even if every current preorder were refunded, we would still see this product through to completion. We do not want any customer to feel burned for investing in the Molecule platform, so you have three options:

• Wait for the new product. The full value of your kit, or equivalent products, will transfer to the new product. For example, if you ordered an e-rig kit, you will receive the e-rig equivalent of the new product at no additional cost. The cost of items that have already shipped, which you can keep and use, also transfers to the new product.
• Get a refund. If you no longer want to wait, we can refund all unfulfilled portions of your order. If you stocked up on Molecule products after the address verification and have not used them, we can review a return case by case in line with our return policies, on top of the refund. We cannot accept returns on used or older products.
• Decide later. You can wait for the full product announcement and make your choice at that point.

What is changing at AVS

This new product will be launched as a new company. Advanced Vape Supply is becoming Ouros. Everyone at AVS and all preorders remain in place, but Advanced Vape Supply will not continue.

We have evolved over the years and embraced an entirely new design principle in these products. Advanced Vape Supply was exactly that, advanced products at the cutting edge, but in general they require advanced knowledge to use. The new products change this philosophy by providing this cutting edge tech in a much more approachable and user-friendly package. We want our products to require much less research and learning to use than the Molecule22, so we want the entire brand to reflect this. Despite the changes, we are more committed than ever to delivering a product everyone is happy with.

The Molecule22 closeout

Because of the design shift, we decided to liquidate our existing Molecule22 stock at below our cost. They are still great products. Pick up spare parts and Molecule gear now, since they will not be restocked once we sell out. We know a lot of you still use these, so make sure to grab some while we still have them.
